The MiG 15 was one of the first successful swept-wing jet fighters, and it achieved fame in the skies over Korea, where early in the war, it outclassed all enemy fighters. It is believed to have been one of the most numerous jet aircraft ever made.
It was first seen on November 30, 1950 during a raid on the North Korean Air Base at Namsi, when an American B-29 Superfortress was hit and damaged by cannon fire from an aircraft that flashed by so fast, the gunners had no chance to return fire.
